Honduras La Ceiba Beach

How are the beaches and nightlife in La Ceiba, Honduras?
I have a trip booked in January with a friend for a week. We are flying into San Pedro Sula and from there we will just go to La Ceiba and stay there for a week. Our main concern is having a great nightlife with a lot of local women to spend time with (wink, wink) and also to be able to swim in nice beaches. From research I’ve been doing today, it sounds like a dump with dirty beaches. Is this true? Also, what hotel can I stay at for about $25 a night that is clean and allows you to bring women friends over?
First, you probably should head over to www.worldsexguide.com and read a little. That forum is exactly suited to what appears to be your travel interest.
That said, I am an American living in Ceiba for four years. Yes, the beaches in town are dirty. There are lovely beaches as close as 10 minutes away by car, for example Playa Peru. Tela and Trujillo, both about 2 hours from Ceiba by car, have the best beaches on the north coast. The best beach in Honduras is West Bay Beach on Roatan.
Nearly all the hotels in La Ceiba will allow you to bring a lady friend in and don’t require that she register nor have ID. As long as you have your passport and the money for the room, you’re good to go. For $25 a night, I’d recommend hotel Las Fuentes near the Zona Viva. For $43 a night, Hotel Versailles is better located and is much, much nicer.
As in any city, when out in La Ceiba’s Zona Viva (bars, restaurants, and girls on the corner), don’t flash your cash, don’t wear fancy jewelry or watches, and keep close tabs on your cell phone and wallet!
